OREANDA-NEWS. December 18, 2012. The Dnipropetrovsk regional children’s clinical hospital has obtained the unique equipment for multimodal therapy of child cancer patients. This modern equipment, that assist to save hundreds of children’s lives, has been donated to the hospital under the charity program Childhood for Everyone!

According to organizers of the program - PrivatBank charity foundation "To help - it's easy!" and the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Charity Organization “Rainbow Shine”, - total cost of equipment exceeds UAH1,0 million. And all the money for the purchase was contributed by the PrivatBank customers.

“The equipment, that we officially donate to the hospital today, has been already assembled, adjusted and today starts to function, saving our children’s lives," – said Alexander Dubilet, the PrivatBank Chairman. – “We thank our customers for supporting this kind deed. On the part of the bank total control over the expenditures, tendering, purchasing, conveyance and installation of equipment has been ensured”.

Under the charity program “Childhood for Everyone!” the hospital has got the equipment, full treatment range for children used to be hard to proceed without. First of all it is the unique automatic biochemical blood analyzer that will allow monitoring little patients’ state during chemotherapy. Ultra-modern electrosurgical instrument will improve the quality of surgeries and will allow minimizing complications and increase chances of ultimate recovery of every child, and the new coagulometer will allow improving the diagnostics of blood coagulability disorders and will help to prevent bleedings during chemotherapy.

"We have been dreaming of equipment like this for a long time," – says Alexander Khitrik, Head of the Regional children’s clinical hospital. – "It will help us to perform high quality safe surgeries of complex tumors. Besides from now on we will use modern surgical techniques of welding and dissection of live tissues. More children will be safely, efficiently and promptly operated".

Fund-raising under the program was organized via PrivatBank’s ATMs all over Ukraine. More than 50 thousand people participated in the project, both residents of Dnipropetrovsk region and other regions of Ukraine. The average amount of donation from the bank customers ranged from UAH20 to UAH25.

"While formerly our children had to go to Kyiv or abroad at certain stages of treatment because there wasn’t necessary equipment in our city, now in most cases comprehensive diagnostics and treatment can be performed in Dnipropetrovsk," - says Andrey Pinchuk, Chairman of DRCO “Rainbow Shine”. - "This project has allowed bringing hope for successful recovery to many children, and the most important - ensuring timely diagnosis of diseases, that sometimes means much more for saving a child’s life in oncology than qualitative treatment".

PrivatBank charity program "To help - it's easy!" operates since 2010 and allows the Bank’s customers to participate in charity projects aimed to support orphans, seriously ill children and special-purpose aid projects for people affected by natural disasters and catastrophes. You can contribute to the kind deed with transferring a donation at any Bank’s ATM or directing odd money (up to UAH1) for the charity purposes in the Bank's outlets. UAH7.210 million have been already collected for orphanages and more than UAH4.5 million - for special-purpose charity programs under the "To help - it's easy!" program.
