OREANDA-NEWS. December 17, 2012. The 4th International Intellectual Property Forum “Expopriority-2012” is taking place at Expocenter. CCI of Russia Vice-President Vladimir Chubarov attended opening ceremony. A plenary meeting of the International Congress, “Intellectual Resource of Russia amid New Challenges”, was held on the Forum’s first day.

The CCI of Russia and Expocenter organized the event with active support of the Russian Federal Assembly’s Federation Council and the Russian Federal Intellectual Property Service. The Forum gained support of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA), the International Federation of Exhibition and Event Services (IFES) and the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF). A traditional part of “Expopriority 2012” Forum is an international show of innovative products and technologies and a contest of innovations of Russian manufacturers.

A press briefing was held after the plenary meeting. CCI of Russia President Sergey Katyrin and Expocenter General Director Sergey Bednov answered questions of the media. Sergey Katyrin said, in particular, that the Forum organizers had three objectives: to show that Russia had and developed intellectual resources, to present new products, services and technologies, and to convey related problems and difficulties to officials entitled to support new ideas and innovations.

It is very important that the exhibition has a consultative center, which gives detailed explanations to inventors and innovators how to start implementing their ideas, to gain material and other support and to transform their ideas into end products and to promote them on the market, the CCI of Russia President said.

The exhibition has more than 150 participants this year, among them manufacturers and know-how developers – enterprises, design institutes, universities, research centers and higher educational establishments, as well as institutions supporting and promoting innovative solutions – investment and venture funds, startups and techno-parks.

Science cities had a special place at the exhibition. The Forum offered a broad youth program.

“Expopriority-2012” presented a new project, Expocenter for Exhibitions without Counterfeiting, which would fight illegal copying of new products presented at exhibitions.
