OREANDA-NEWS. December 14, 2012. MegaFon, Russian telecom operator, and Samsung Electronics, global leader in mobile technology, inform that sales of Samsung GALAXY S III LTE will be launched starting from December 20, 2012.

The flagship model of Samsung LTE will be available in the own retail stores of MegaFon (MegaFon Retail OJSC)*, as well as at shop.megafon.ru. The retail price of the smartphone will be 29,990 rubles.

The signature of the new version now available in the market Samsung GALAXY S III will be the support of 4G mobile network that enables any device user to access internet at 100 Mbps speed rate. The 4G based voice calls will become available as soon as the operator and the vendors complete testing the special hardware.

Currently the 4G mobile network of MegaFon (LTE) is available to the residents of 17 regions of Russia, including Moscow and Moscow Region, Novosibirsk, Samara, Vladivostok, Ufa, Krasnodar, Sochi, St.Petersburg, Kazan, Kostroma, Vladimir, Tula, Mari El, Khabarovsk, Omsk, Khabarovsk and Orenburg.

The results of the testing in November this year demonstrate that Samsung GALAXY S III LTE is fully compatible with the LTE frequencies effective in Russia, it enjoys a stable and reliable operation in the 4G network. Following the tests, other LTE-based devices will be launched in the market.
