OREANDA-NEWS. December 14, 2012.  At the construction site of the Baltic nuclear power plant there were performed works on the concrete casting of the Unit 1 foundation plate. Works were carried out by the specialists of JSC United Energy-construction Corporation under the supervision of the branch of OJSC Concern Rosenergoatom Baltic NPP construction Directorate and the general contractor JSC NIAEP.

"Concreting is being performed in the cold period, today the temperature is minus 6 degrees. In order to prevent freezing and loss of concrete properties there are applied concrete antifreeze additives and hydrothermal processing of reinforcing cage of the foundation plate ", said the Head of Technical Supervision of the Capital Construction of Baltic NPP construction Directorate Vyacheslav Dynin. He noted that for today it is held of compliance monitoring of hydrothermal regime and concrete curing.
