OREANDA-NEWS. December 13, 2012. Belarus has made a point of setting a zero quota on production of fortified fruit wines in 2013, a source in the Belarusian government told reporters.

A zero quota means that Belarus will not produce fortified fruit wines in 2013. The move is intended to promote consumption of natural beverages, including grape wine, the official said.

Quota for other sort of alcohol products will be set in conformity with standard procedures.

The Economy Ministry of Belarus has conformed that the government does not plan to set a production quota on fortified fruit wines in 2013.

The 2012 production quota on fortified fruit wines was reduced 7.4 times year on year to 466,000 decalitres.
