OREANDA-NEWS. December 11, 2012. BEGISHEVO AIRPORT, the majority shareholder of which has been OJSC KAMAZ since 2008, was certified for compliance of the management system with the ISO 9001:2008 international standard.

In October, after a successful certification audit, BEGISHEVO International Airport received Certificate No.12.0977.026 of conformity of the management system to the ISO 9001:2008 international standard and Certificate IQNet RU-12.0977.026 for arrivals and departures of aircrafts, maintenance of aircrafts on the ramp, passenger and luggage service management. As a result, BEGISHEVO has become the first, and now the only airport in Tatarstan which was certified for compliance of the management system with the ISO 9001:2008 international standard.

The quality management system was certified for compliance with the ISO 9001:2008 international standard by auditors of Certification Association Russian Register, its specialized subdivision – OOO Russian Register – Civil Aviation. It is the only organization in Russia and the CIS with broad practical experience in assessment of management systems for conformity to ISO 9001, preparation of aviation companies for audits for compliance with ISO international standards.

The certificate was received after two years of development and implementation of the quality management system in the organization. The project was fulfilled by experts of BEGISHEVO Airport. This is the first step towards an effective quality management system. It will help BEGISHEVO Airport to gain a competitive advantage and will be a stepping stone to the next goal – the introduction of a flight safety management system in accordance with guidelines of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), under the Government Aircraft Safety Program and increasingly stringent requirements of airlines, other customers and suppliers for activity of the enterprise.
