PetroChina, Hefei Government Sign Agreement on Gas Supply
OREANDA-NEWS. December 11, 2012. PetroChina and the Hefei Municipal Government signed a cooperation framework agreement on gas supply. The two sides will join hands in the clean development of the city, building Hefei into a demonstration base of clean energy industry in East China or even the whole country within a decade, reported the press-centre of CNPC.
According to the agreement, during the 12th and 13th Five Year Plan Periods, PetroChina will deliver a total of 4.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Hefei via channels including the West East Gas Pipeline. By then, a diversified gas supply pattern combining pipeline gas and LNG will bring the gasification rate in Hefei to 80%, with the proportion of natural gas in primary energy consumption increased from the current 1.5% to around 15%. This will play an important role in energy efficiency enhancement, emission reduction and air quality improvement in the city.
Secretary of the CPC Hefei Municipal Committee Wu Cunrong, Mayor of Hefei Zhang Qingjun, and CNPC Vice President Liao Yongyuan had a discussion and attended the signing ceremony. Vice Mayor of Hefei Zhou Shanwu and PetroChina Vice President Li Hualin signed the agreement on behalf of the two sides.
