TATNEFT Named among Top Five Information Transparency Leaders
OREANDA-NEWS. December 11, 2012. Based on the information transparency rating results of the of Russian fuel and energy sector companies performed in November 2012, the JSC TATNEFT was included in the group of top 10 largest companies in the oil and gas industry demonstrating the highest level of information transparency, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.
TATNEFT ranks No. 5 in the information transparency rating. The high appraisal of the of information transparency level received by TATNEFT Company is the result of extensive work of the Company's services aimed at the image development and strengthening of TATNEFT's business reputation, as well as increasing the efficiency of its informational and communicational activities.
In accordance with the legislation requirements and the international best practice the Company discloses information on its activities and publishes information materials and presentations for shareholders, investors and stock market analysts.
Along with the traditional channels of date communication such as corporate print media and a television studio there are also electronic ones: the Internet portal and electronic edition of the "Oil newspaper."
The Electronic Corporate University (http://ec-univer.ru/) is functioning with the support of TATNEFT, pursuing the main objective of the continuous professional development of the specialists and selection of talented young people with application of innovative educational technologies.
For the purpose of the information transparency rating of the Russian fuel and energy complex companies, the Agency for Political and Economic Communications (APEC) had conducted a survey with participation of 25 renowned experts: economists, political scientists, investment and industry analysts, economic journalists. The evaluation had been carried out for 75 largest companies representing nuclear energy, gas, oil, coal industry branches, oil and petroleum products transportation and electric power industry.
Each expert had assessed the information transparency level of the companies and then identified the arithmetic mean values of the expert opinions (average scores).
