OREANDA-NEWS. December 10, 2012. According to the latest figures, loading on the Russian Railways’ network in November 2012 amounted to 106.4 million tons, an increase of 1.7% compared to November 2011, reported the press-centre of RZD. 

Freight turnover in November 2012 compared to November 2011 increased by 3.3% to 187.9 billion tariff ton-kilometres. Freight turnover counting empty runs during the same month increased by 1.4% to 234.3 billion ton-kilometres.

According to the latest figures, loading in January-November 2012 amounted to 1170.6 million tons, 3% more than in the same period of 2011.

The following goods were shipped. Figures in brackets show the percentage change compared to January-November 2011:

coal - 281 million tons (+4.3%);
coke - 11.6 million tonnes (-2.5%);
oil and petroleum products - 235.2 million tons (+3.2%);
iron and manganese ores - 100.9 million tons (-0.6%);
ferrous metals - 67.4 million tons (no change);
ferrous metal scrap - 16.9 million tons (-10.5%);
chemical and mineral fertilisers - 41.2 million tons (-2.7%);
cement - 33.3 million tons (+2.4%);
timber - 33.4 million tons (-10.9%);
grain and milled products - 18.9 million tons (+7.1%);
construction materials - 169.3 million tons (+16.2%);
non-ferrous ores and sulphur feedstock - 20.6 million tons (-6.4%);
chemicals and soda - 25.7 million tons (-2.7%);
industrial raw materials and moulded materials - 33.2 million tons (+7.8%).

Freight turnover since the beginning of 2012 amounted to 2034.9 billion tariff ton-km, an increase of 4.9%, with turnover including empty wagon runs rising 3.4% to 2547.5 billion ton-km.
