Bosch Thermotechnology Plans to Set up New Manufacturing Facility
OREANDA-NEWS. December 07, 2012. The Bosch Thermotechnology division plans to set up a new manufacturing facility at the existing Bosch location in Engels, Russia. It will produce industrial boilers and wall-mounted conventional boilers. Construction of the new plant is due to start in March 2013, with completion planned for the first quarter of 2014. Some 21 million euros are to be invested in total. If all goes to plan, some 170 new jobs will be created by 2016, 100 of them in production and 70 in administration.
Apart from the manufacture of boilers for industrial and commercial use, with an output of 2.5 to 6.5 megawatts, wall-mounted conventional boilers are also to be made in Engels. With an output of 18 to 28 kilowatts, these boilers are used for heating and hot water generation. In addition, a department for the further modification of industrial boiler series is to be set up. It will employ some 20 associates.
“Our new Engels site will secure us clear advantages when it comes to competitiveness and positioning in one of the world's largest markets for heating technology,” said Uwe Glock, the president of the Bosch Thermotechnology division. “We can now offer our products at significantly lower logistics costs, as well as adapt them even better to the requirements of the Russian market.”
Bosch has been present in Engels, which is in the European part of Russia and some 850 kilometers from Moscow, since 1996. Its Automotive Aftermarket, Gasoline Systems, and Power Tools divisions are based there. Some 1,500 associates work for Bosch in Engels.
