OREANDA-NEWS. December 07, 2012. Rompetrol Moldova becomes first among oil companies of Moldova to adopt the Integrated Management system and obtain three certificates justifying Rompetrol’s meeting international standards. In particular, Rompetrol was certified with the integrated management system certificate, the environment certificate and occupational health and safety certificate by Germanischer Lloyd Systems Certification Hub Romania.

The certificates justify that the company meets standards in ISO 9001:2008 (quality management), ISO 14001:2009 (environment management) and OHSAS 18001:2007 (occupational health and safety standard). Director General of Rompetrol Moldova Vladislav Rusnac said that adopting the integrated management system and having international accreditation was a prerequisite for achieving qualitative and quantitative goals, set by the company in the context of European ambitions of Moldova. Besides, this will help to optimize costs and further the development of the company. Rompetrol Group is implementing the management systems certification policy among all its members.

For example, Rompetrol Moldova became the third certified company in the segment of fuel distributing companies, following Rompetrol Downstream, certified in 2006, and Rompetrol Bulgaria, certified in 2011. Observing these standards justify a high level of doing business and a care about employees and environment. Obtaining the certificate means that the company reduced costs and improved its operational activity. Daniel Savu, Director General of Germanischer Lloyd Systems Certification Hub Romania pointed out that certification of Rompetrol Moldova is a result of careful work, started over a year ago and constantly encouraged by both: managers of Rompetrol and auditors of GL Systems Certification. This result means really added value of Rompetrol Moldova, he said.

Rompetrol Moldova entered the market of Moldova in 2002, being a part of the retail subsidiary of Rompetrol Group. Rompetrol Moldova owns a network of 47 filling stations and is the fifth in size operator of the market. Petrol and diesel are supplied from the Petromidia oil-processing plant, Romania. Besides the 47 filling stations the company owns 4 stations to retail liquefied gas, situated in the north of Moldova, tanks being located in Tirnovo.

Rompetrol Group is presented by over 1 thousand of filling stations in 6 European states, namely Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria, Georgia, France and Spain and is planning to develop fuel retail in Turkey and Ukraine.
