Remittance from RF to Moldova Grew 6,3%
OREANDA-NEWS. December 07, 2012. According to the Central Bank of Russia, they made up USD 210 mln. in Q1 2012, USD 274 mln. in Q2, and USD 346 mln. in Q3, 2012.
They were USD 181 mln., USD 271 and USD 329 mln. in Q1, Q2 and Q3 of 2011 respectively. A sum of a remittance from Russia to Moldova averaged USD 423 in Q1, 2012 and USD 450 in Q2, 2012 and USD 528 in Q3.
In the same period of 2011 it was USD 447, USD 509 and USD 588 respectively. According to the National Bank of Moldova, in the first 9 months of 2012 remittances from aboard in favour in individuals made via commercial banks amounted to USD 1 bln. 072.14 mln., USD 16.55 mln.or 1.6% up within the year.
The remittances amounted to USD 288.99 mln. in Q1, USD 361,7 mln. in Q2 and USD 421.45 mln. in Q3. About USD 950.51 mln., or 88.7% of a total amount of remittances in January-MSeptember, 2012 were transferred to Moldova through various rapid money transfer systems, the National Bank informs. Following Q3, 2012, in the structure of remittances in forex about 38.7% fell on USD, 36.2% to EUR and 25.1% to RUB.
According to the Central Bank of Russia, in 2011 remittances from aboard in favour in individuals made via banks amounted to USD 1 bln. 076 mln., 27.3% or USD 231 mln. up within the year. The average sum of a remittance from RF to Moldova made up USD525 in 2011 against USD 516 registered the year before. Moldova has ranked the 7th among CIS states by amounts of remittances from Russia through money transfer systems, following Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The biggest receipts to Moldova come from Russia and Italy. According to the World Bank, remittances from Moldova’s labour migrants amount to 20% to 30% of GDP of Moldova. The all-time peak of the volume of money transfers to Moldova made in favour of individuals via commercial banks was recorded in 2008 when the sum amounted to USD 1 bln. 660.09 mln. within the year.
