OREANDA-NEWS. December 06, 2012. Donald D. Humphreys, 64, senior vice president and principal financial officer of Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM), has announced his intention to retire on February 1, 2013, after more than 36 years of service, reported the press-centre of ExxonMobil.

Mr. Humphreys has been a member of the corporation’s management committee since January 2006. In addition to his financial management role, he has also been responsible for ExxonMobil's fuels, lubricants and specialties marketing and global services operations.

Mr. Humphreys joined Exxon Chemical Company in August 1976 and had several assignments in Houston, Baton Rouge and Baytown before becoming senior financial advisor at Exxon Corporation in New York.

Mr. Humphreys held positions with Exxon Company International and was upstream controller of Exxon Company U.S.A. He was financial director of Exxon companies in Malaysia and was assistant treasurer of Exxon Corporation, where he later was elected vice president and controller. At the time of the Exxon and Mobil merger in 1999, Mr. Humphreys was named vice president and controller of Exxon Mobil Corporation and later elected vice president and treasurer of Exxon Mobil Corporation.

Mr. Humphreys is a director on the boards of Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation and Junior Achievement Worldwide. He is a member of Financial Executives International and the American Petroleum Institute and served as a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council.

Mr. Humphreys is a trustee of the Oklahoma State University Foundation. He is a distinguished alumnus of OSU and a member of the halls of fame of OSU alumni, the Spears School of Business and the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology.

A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mr. Humphreys holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and management from Oklahoma State University and a master’s degree in business administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
