OREANDA-NEWS. December 05, 2012. Sberbank Private Banking, the business block of the Sberbank Group that provides financial and accompanying services to high-net-worth individuals, has announced the appointment of Vasiliy Sofiyskiy as Head of Ultra High Net Worth Clients Group, Managing Director. In his new position, Mr Sofiyskiy will be charged with continuing to develop and support the Group’s base of high net worth private clients as well as maintaining a single point of entry for all financial decisions made by Sberbank regarding this category of clients. He will report to Elena Shilina, Head of Private Banking and Advisor to one of the Deputy Chairmen of the Management Board of Sberbank of Russia.

Mr Sofiyskiy joins Sberbank Private Banking from Credit Suisse AG where, beginning in 2007 he served as director and investment partner of the group overseeing major private clients. He worked both out of Zurich and Moscow. In this position, Mr Sofiyskiy developed integrated financial solutions which involved several different divisions of the bank, including the investment bank and asset management. He managed the investment portfolios of clients, and handled the organization of financing and securities placements. Previously, Mr Sofiyskiy had worked for several leading financial companies in the U.S. and Great Britain. He has degrees from Moscow State University of Environmental Engineering and New York University’s Stern School of Business.
