airBaltic to Launch Riga-Prague
OREANDA-NEWS. December 05, 2012. On 1 January 2013, Latvian national airline airBaltic will launch a new route from Riga to Prague, Czech Republic. The new route of airBaltic will offer convenient travel between the two capitals, and excellent transit connections via Riga to destinations in Scandinavia, Russia, and the CIS.
Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic: “As part of airBaltic ReShape business plan we have been concentrating on high-demand routes and added frequencies to 12 destinations in Europe and the CIS already for this winter. At the same time we have decreased flying on low-demand routes, which makes aircraft available for other new routes. In total, we are planning to open six new routes for the next summer, and announce our decision as soon as negotiations are finalised with our partners. We are delighted to offer Prague as our new destination. I would also like to remind that improvements to the network have given a positive contribution to our ReShape programme. Because of ReShape’s success, airBaltic achieved a net profit of LVL 4.8 million in the third quarter of 2012.”
airBaltic will fly from Riga to Prague three times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Passengers will board a Bombardier Q400 Next Gen aircraft for a flight that will last for 2 hours and 10 minutes. One-way ticket prices will start at LVL 49 (EUR 69), including airport fees and transaction costs. A full schedule of airBaltic flights can be found on the company's homepage at www.airbaltic.com
airBaltic serves 60 destinations from its home base in Riga, Latvia. airBaltic offers convenient connections via North Hub Riga to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, CIS and the Middle East.
