OREANDA-NEWS. December 5, 2012. Siderperu, Gerdau's operation in Peru, launched the second phase of the Metal Operators Development project in the city of Chimbote. The program is conducted in partnership with the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) and the National Service of Training for Industrial Work (SENATI) and is geared toward low-income workers and aims to train professionals for the job market ready to work in the steel industry.

In this edition, the course lasted 100 hours and trained 54 operators who received specialized training to increase their knowledge and improve their quality of life.

Directed by Gerdau Institute, which is responsible for the Company's social responsibility policies and guidelines, it invests in the development of customers and suppliers through programs of stimulus toward excellence in management and entrepreneurship, creating shared value for its entire supply chain.
