During that period production of cognacs increased 8.8% to 1 mln. 862.6 thou. l. of 100% spirit, vodka and liqueurs production decreasing 0.8% to 1 mln. 796.3 thou. l. of 100% spirit.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, production of distillate strong beverages amounted to a sum of 509 mln. leis in January-September, 2012, 7.6% down as compared with the same period of the past year. At the same time production of wines increased 3.9% to 1 bln. 299.5 mln. leis.
