OREANDA-NEWS. December 05, 2012. Agricultural producers are actively preparing seeds of spring crops for sowing. Now agricultural producers from all regions of Ukraine are provided by seeds of corn for the harvest 2013 at 101% of the needs. This was announced by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.

"The provision of agricultural producers with seed of corn is 105.8 thousand tons, or 101% of the needs. In addition, the State Reserve Seed Fund has prepared for the sale 2.3 thousand tons of corn seeds. It is also expected delivery of foreign corn seeds as it was last year, which is about 45,000 tons. Therefore, the issue of security and preparation of seeds for sowing is under control of the state", Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said.

The Minister also noted that the area under corn will not be decreased because it is one of the major export’s crops.
