OREANDA-NEWS. December 05, 2012. Special attention is paid to improving training of service and hospitality personnel in the process of a large-scale work on tourism development in Uzbekistan. The Presidential decree "On the training of qualified personnel for the tourism industry in Uzbekistan" dated 30 June 1999, the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to further support and develop tourism in the Republic of Uzbekistan" dated October 10, 2012 serve as an important factor in this.

Faculty of International Tourism of the Tashkent State University of Economics, Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service, Management Development Institute of Singapore in Tashkent and College of Tourism in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva train specialists in areas such as tourism marketing and management, service, international tourism, hotel and restaurant business.

The Tashkent State University of Economics has been working on training for the tourism industry, improving the physical and intellectual potential of young people. TSUE works closely with universities in the UK, USA, Canada, Egypt, Greece, Italy, Russia and Ukraine.

The University has established "open air museum", a historical and cultural complex, where exhibits on our unique architectural monuments are on show. During the regular infotours the tourism potential of our country is demonstrated.

It has become a tradition to hold various scientific and practical conferences, video conferences, training seminars on tourism at the University. The students are actively involved in exhibitions, held in different countries.

More than eight hundred firms and companies operate in the tourism sector of Uzbekistan. They have a high demand for skilled workers - tour operators, guides and managers in various areas. Fairs of vacancies in tourism, regularly held in Tashkent State Economic University, allow graduates to get closely acquainted with the activities of these firms and companies, and employers - to sel ect promising young professionals.

The university has cooperation agreements with "Uzbektourism" National Company, "O'zintur", "Silk-Road", "Yasmina-tour", "Planeta-tur", "Sabotli" travel companies, "Tashkent International Hotel", "Dedeman", "Malika" hotels.

130 students graduated fr om the Faculty of International Tourism of the Tashkent State University of Economics in 2011/2012 academic year.
