Power Machines to Upgrade Hydrogenerators of Cheboksarskaya HPP
OREANDA-NEWS. December 04, 2012. RusHydro OJSC and Power Machines OJSC have concluded a contract to upgrade eight hydrogenerators of Cheboksarskaya HPP.
According to the contractual terms, Power Machines’ specialists are to inspect the generators of the plant’s hydropower units No. 2,10,11,12,13,14,17 and 18, and then, basing on a project developed, to produce stators, tachogenerators and other components for these generators. Besides, Power Machines specialists are to provide installation supervision of supplied hydropower equipment.
The delivery of the first of the eight equipment sets is scheduled for January 2014 and that of the last one – for February 2017.
Power Machines started the reconstruction of Cheboksarskaya HPP’s equipment in 2007 by upgrading the blade rotating mechanism of the impeller of hydropower unit No. 7. In 2011–2012 the power engineering company reconstructed the impellers of hydropower units No. 16 and No. 8. In 2011 Power Machines and RusHydro extended the scope of their cooperation aimed to renovate the hydropower units of Cheboksarskaya HPP by concluding a contract for the reconstruction of seven more impellers along with the production of new parts and assemblies. The first of them – the impeller of hydropower unit No. 4 – is to be put into operation in Q4 2012. The delivery of the last of the seven reconstructed impellers is scheduled for May 2016.
The renovation of the main power generating equipment of Cheboksarskaya HPP is being carried out within the framework of a large-scale program for the plant’s comprehensive upgrade and is aimed at increasing the reliability and safe operation of the HPP’s equipment and at reducing its operation and repair costs.
The project for Cheboksarskaya HPP continues the successful cooperation between Power Machines and RusHydro. At present the companies are working together to overhaul Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP and Baksanskaya HPP, to build Boguchanskaya HPP and Zagorskaya PSPP-2, to reconstruct hydropower units for Volzhskaya, Rybinskaya and Zhigulyovskaya HPPs.
