Belarusian Beer Output Reduced 9%/yr in Jan-Oct
OREANDA-NEWS. December 4, 2012. Belarus’ beer output decreased 9% on the year in January-October 2012 to 36.335 million decaliters, a representative in the concern Belgospischeprom told reporters.
In October alone Belarus’ beer output reduced 18.9% year on year to 2.703 million decalitres.
Belarus’ beer production may reduce 14-15% year on year in 2012, the expert said. With beer imports taken into account, Belarus’ beer market may shrink by some 4% in 2012.
OJSC Krinitsa, based in Minsk, produced 12.408 million decaliters of beer, down 5.4% on the year.
OJSC Olivaria, based in the city of Minsk, produced 6.413 million decaliters of beer in January-October 2012, a decrease of 14.6% on the year.
OJSC Brest Beer produced 1.893 million decalitres of beer, down 42.5%.
Heineken Breweries, decreased beer output 6.3% to 9.198 million decaliters.
OJSC Lidskoe Pivo (Lida Beer), in Grodno Region, increased beer output 3.9% to 6.299 million decaliters.
Beer output in plastic bottles accounts for 78.7% of the total output at 28.59 million decaliters (down 6.2%), beer glass bottles - 12.9% to 4.679 million decaliters (down 29.5%), beer in kegs 7.3% at 2.671 million decaliters (up 5.1%) and beer in cans - 1% at 357,200 dal (up 68.6%).
Belarusian beer supplies to domestic wholesalers and retailers decreased 11.1% on the year in January-October 2012 to 30.758 million decaliters.
The share of imported beer on Belarus’ market stood at 25.45% in Jan-Oct 2012 to compare with 17.9% in 2011. The share of Heineken Belarus stands at 21.57%, down 1.33 percentage points from the 2011 level; Krinitsa – 19.73% (down 2.3 percentage points), Olivaria – 16.36% (down 1.94 percentage points), Lidskoye Pivo – 13.11% (up 0.41 percentage points), Brest Beer – 3.54% (down 2.26 percentage points).
Belarusian companies’ export of beer grew 7.4% to 5.592 million decaliters.
