OREANDA-NEWS. December 4, 2012. OMZ Special Steels, part of OMZ Group, has brought its new SR 4 -330/20m lathe, produced by Skoda Machine Tool (Czech Republic) into pilot production. The lathe works with 250-tonn workpieces.

Modern lathe allows performing finishing machining of workpieces, providing the necessary approvals in full compliance with the requirements of customers. The new lathe is expected to work with shafts, rollers and rotors weighing up to 250 tons and with a length of 20 meters. Thus, the commissioning of the new equipment will increase the share of machined workpieces in the company’s product range.

The investment in the project constituted 400 million rubles.
