OREANDA-NEWS. December 04, 2012. IBA Minsk and the IBA Training Center participated in the ninth international forum on banking information technologies BankIT’12 held in Minsk, Belarus. IBA was a platinum sponsor of the conference and exhibition, reported the press-centre of IBA.     

The largest banking event in Belarus, BankIT is designed to outline the strategy of cooperation between Belarusian banks and software development companies and to highlight problems in the implementation of innovative IT solutions at finance and credit organizations. The Scientific and Technological Association Infopark, the Association of Belarusian Banks, the National Bank of Belarus, the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of Belarus, High-Tech Park Belarus, and other institutions were the organizers of the event.

Nadezhda Yermakova, Head of the National Bank of Belarus; Vladimir Kuchinsky, Head of the Central Department of Information Technologies of the National Bank; Oleg Veremeichik, Head of the Central Department of Unified Information and Payment Space of the National Bank; Pavel Kallaur, Chairman of the Board of Bank BelVEB; and other officials made a tour of the exhibition stands.

Sergei Levteev, IBA Group CEO, told the delegation about the IBA’s information and analysis system based on IBM Cognos. He also demonstrated a mobile terminal developed by IBA, enabling bank clients to pay for goods and services.

Visitors of the IBA Group’s stand familiarized themselves with IBA solutions for the banking sector, including an automated client survey system, a scoring and statistical analysis system, a front office system for a commercial bank, a software and hardware inventory system, and a Near Field Communication (NFC) solution, as well as systems for remote banking services, such as IBA Mobile Banking and IBA Internet Banking.

Nearly 1,100 representatives of local and foreign banking and consulting organizations, IT providers, system integrators, and government institutions attended the event.
Levteev commented: “Compared with other branches of the economy of Belarus, the banking sector holds leading positions in the implementation of advanced IT. The BankIT contributed to the informatization of the finance and credit system of the country, enabling banks to receive directly from IT developers the most complete, reliable, and trustworthy information about the IT’s influence on their business. The Forum gives an insight in the development of financial services and shows us how to tailor the existing solutions to the needs of specific customers.”

He went on to say: “IBA presented its innovative solutions, including cloud and mobile solutions that are becoming an integral part of the society’s life. Many private and state-owned organizations in Belarus are already benefiting from mobile technologies and looking into cloud computing. I believe that cloud platforms are a serious strategic initiative that will facilitate the achievement of new business targets.”
