Caterpillar Loader Arrives at Chernogorsk Open - Pit Mine
OREANDA-NEWS. December 3, 2012. In November, as part of the investment program pursuing the production facilities upgrading, the Chernogorsk open-pit mine received a Caterpillar 992K front loader equipped with a 13 cu. m bucket. This is the first machine bearing the globally renowned Caterpillar brand to appear not only in entire Khakassia but also in Tuva, in the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
"In our experience imported loaders have been operating superbly," noted Alexey Keelin, the executive director of SUEK-Khakassia. "They are highly reliable, mobile, powerful and provide operator comfort. The above led to productivity increase."
The Caterpillar company has gained a good reputation in the global market. It manufactured high-performance, reliable machinery. The advantage of its vehicles is secured by the fact that its units and service components are made in-house providing additional operational reliability. The loader is equipped with a very good hydraulic system. The company specialists say that filters catch particles down to 2 microns in size, i. e. there is an excellent counter dust system installed, which extends the machine's operation life.
The developers emphasize the unique linkage. The new construction enhances its reliability and durability. Use of cast parts in the articulated joint decreases the stress and improves resistance to high torsion loads. The temperature range in which the loader retains its normal operating state is also above reproach: from +40 to -40 C. The loader's range of mining applications is also huge: it can operate at waste pile sites, or be efficient at coal loading.
