OREANDA-NEWS. December 3, 2012. On November 15, 2012 the 10th million passenger set out on travels from the air harbor of St. Petersburg! Such annual passenger flow rate is a really record breaking result over all Pulkovo Airport history. It is indicative that such momentous event happened during a year of Pulkovo Airport 80th Anniversary.

Passenger of Pulkovo 1 terminal got a chance to experience an atmosphere of 70's. The event was followed up with entourage of the Golden Age of Aviation: check-in agents were dressed retro uniform, mock-ups of soviet soda fountains and telephone boxes were installed in public areas, passengers were entertained with lollypops and gifted with a Soviet era symbol – cherry red carnations. Airport passengers and visitor sent to their friends and relatives more than 1500 post cards, handed round by a postman during that day. Also, everyone was able to participate in the special flash mob arranged by the Airport employees.

Alexander Nikulaev, a wing-spiker of Dynamo Volleyball Club (Leningrad region), going with a team to a round of Russia championship, has become a lucky winner. During check-in unaware 10th million passenger was surrounded by musicians and dancers. Surprised Alexander gladly jointed his voice to a choir signing famous Talk with Happiness. He walked on specially constructed stage to the thunderous applause and where was gifted with a bouquet and iPad 3 from Pulkovo Airport, and as well special present from Rossiya Airlines –the award business class ticket for any flight of the Airlines.
