SCM Publishes First Sustainability Summary Report 2011
OREANDA-NEWS. November 29, 2012. For the first time SCM has published two versions of sustainability report 2011: a full traditional version for experts and a summary version for the wide public. The latter was presented at the International CSR Reporting and Communications Summit in London.
“Every year SCM makes a big contribution to unlock the potential of the business, employees, partners and the entire country due to a clear focus on six major areas of social responsibility and continuous investments. We are well aware that our operating companies have a huge impact on hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians,” noted SCM Director of Public Relations and Communications Natalia Yemchenko.
She said that SCM Group would like to make its social and financial performance accessible to all and decided to prepare two versions of the report: a full version including all calculations, and a summary version featuring the key figures and conclusions. The main goal of the summary report is to provide our stakeholders with all important information in a convenient, easy-to-read format, thus making SCM and its impact on Ukraine's economy and social area more understandable and transparent for people.
The English version of SCM’s Sustainability Summary Report 2011 is on SCM’s corporate website. The summary report was audited by an independent consulting agency Ernst & Young and presented on 20-21 November 2012 at the International CSR Reporting and Communications Summit in London where it was highly recognised by experts and international businessmen.
The report outlines SCM’s programmes focused on people: our employees and their families, residents of cities and towns where we operate, and all Ukrainians in general. To share these programmes and talk the same language with the wide audience, SCM produced a 18-page summary report written in simple words and with clear charts and tables.
The Russian version of SCM’s Sustainability Summary Report 2011 will be available in mid-December 2012 on SCM’s corporate website.
Yet SCM will continue to publish a traditional version of the report too that is being prepared in line with international standards now. It will be audited by Ernst & Young and published in January 2013.
