OREANDA-NEWS. November 29, 2012. City, town and village development plans to be drawn up till 2016 for all settlements of Moldova and spent on close to 14.9 mln. Euros. By estimates, the value of drawing up a general village development plan approaches 160 thou. leis, being close to 240 thou. leis for cities and towns, the Ministry of t Regional Development informs.

Drawing up town planning documents for all settlements of Moldova is provided by the program developed by the Ministry of the Regional Development and Construction. The program, developed for 2013-201, aims to ensure long-term development for settlements of Moldova through efficient use of lands.

The program describes the current situation in this area, establishes goals, actions and measures to improve it, sets forth responsibilities of those in charge for town planning. At present, only 19 out of 57 cities and towns of Moldova possess town planning documents. Only 17 0ut of 1614 villages have been provided with the documents developed and approved in line with social and economic conditions. Recent city, town and village development plans were drawn up within 1952-1997.

They have become obstacle and can not be used under new social and economic conditions in line with principles of planning, centralized governance and extensive development. According to the program by the Ministry of the Regional development and Construction, developing town and city plans is the responsibility of local authorities. The development of the plans will be financed from state and local budgets, funds provided by international financial organizations, donors and private investors.
