Caspian Corridor Conference Held in London
OREANDA-NEWS. November 28, 2012. The Caspian Corridor Conference was held in London on November 26. A one-day Conference, organized by the International Bank of Azerbaijan, TheCityUK, and Asia House, covered the opportunities and challenges faced by the Caspian region countries and measures for developing possible business in the region.
The Conference briefings, discussions, and interactive sessions were attended by ministers, experts, and senior level business executives. The discussions, in nine segments, covered regional issues and trade sectors including energy, infrastructure, banking, manufacturing, professional services, education, tourism, and next generation perspectives.
Speaking at the Conference, SOCAR vice-president Rafiga Huseynzade gave information about Company’s strategy on “Southern Gas Corridor” project. In her speech, Rafiga Huseynzade gave detailed information on the natural gas export and work conducted by SOCAR for European energy security, as well as Company’s recent achievements. The Conference brought together Chief Executive of TheCityUK Chris Cummings, Chairman of the International Bank of Azerbaijan Jahangir Hajiyev, Lord Raymond Oxford, officials from the British Foreign Affairs Department, ambassadors, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the UK Fakhraddin Gurbanov, as well as representatives of financial and business circles. At the end of the event, the speakers responded the questions of event participants.
Following the Conference, a Gala Concert of Azeri and Classical music with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra was held at Cadogan Hall to celebrate the International Bank of Azerbaijan’s 20th Anniversary.
