OREANDA-NEWS. November 27, 2012. Ukraine International Airlines continues partnership with Aerosvit Airlines during IATA 2012-2013 winter season and IATA 2013summer season. The cooperation of the two carriers aims to significantly expand transit opportunities for both Ukrainian and foreign passengers, reported the press-centre of UIA.
Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) and Aerosvit Airlines carry on cooperation during several IATA seasons under the terms and conditions of code-sharing agreements. Contemporaneous experience confirms the success rate of such partnership, being a common and globally accepted form of carriers` interaction. Currently UIA has 11 code-sharing agreements, about 130 interline agreements, and 64 special settlement of accounts agreements with other airlines to provide passengers with the opportunity to reach more than 3,000 cities worldwide.
Due to the agreements reached, during the 2012-2013 winter season UIA passengers will be able to take advantage of AeroSvit flights from Kiev to Astana and Rostov, as well as – partner flights between Kiev and Tbilisi, Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa, Simferopol, Lvov, and Ivano-Frankovsk. Simultaneously, AeroSvit passengers will be able to travel on UIA flights, notably to the cities of Western Europe and UAE.
UIA also explores the possibility of placing their code on partner flights operated to the city of the Russian Federation, CIS countries, and Southeast Asia during the 2013summer season, and consequently, commencing active sales of transit passenger traffic between Europe and the CIS and Europe and Southeast Asia. Such steps will allow significantly expanding opportunities of attracting additional transit passenger traffic and increasing the transit capacity of Kiev.
Ukrainian carriers` partnership provides passengers with maximum comfort when using combined route networks of the two airlines and offers extensive list of options when choosing the optimal route. Cooperation between UIA and AeroSvit is based on the existing corporate models of each carrier and compliments the advantages of both airlines.
“Being a leading carrier, we are well aware of our social responsibility and expect business arrangement with our Ukrainian partner will make, inter alia, air transport more available to all Ukrainian social groups and will contribute to further development of air transportation market, – noted Evgeniy Treskunov, UIA Executive Vice President Strategy and Development. – I would like to emphasize that the development of Kiev Boryspil International airport as a powerful hub is only possible under the condition of active participation of its leading base carriers – UIA and AeroSvit. Cooperation of the two carriers allows offering the regions of Ukraine even more travel opportunities to the various airports worldwide with convenient connections in Kiev, and eventually – launch direct international flights. Attracting additional passenger traffic to regional airports will allow using and developing modern infrastructure, including alterations made during the run-up for Euro – 2012, more efficiently”.
