The NTT Communications Group CSR Report 2012 presents NTT Com’s achievements in fields including the environment, society and human resources, with explanations provided from the viewpoints of both the NTT Com Group and its stakeholders. NTT Com, a “Global ICT Partner” that provides customers with total ICT outsourcing services for more prosperous and sustainable societies, has active CSR programs in each of these three fields.

In the environment section, for example, the report reviews efforts to reduce CO2 emissions by installing the award-winning SmartDASH air conditioning control system in NTT Com data centers in the United States and Japan. Also reviewed are measures to lower waste and paper consumption and preserve biodiversity.

The society section explains how NTT Com upgraded its disaster-response capabilities based on lessons learned from major calamities such as the Great East Japan Earthquake and floods in Thailand in 2011.

The new challenges section reviews NTT Com’s initiative to help establish an ICT-based educational system that enables children to easily participate in remote education in Indonesia, where the majority of children cannot receive adequate education due to poverty or geographical constraints.

The digest version of the report, which is summarized to reduce paper consumption, covers CSR policies and activities of special importance to stakeholders. The online version, which is the full report, also provides details about environmental activities and performance.
