OREANDA-NEWS. November 26, 2012. In the Government of Karelia First Deputy Head of the Republic of Karelia for Economic Policy Oleg Gromov had a meeting with Kaija Viljanen, Managing Director of Avena Nordic Grain Oу.

Gennagy Pavlikov, Director of Avena St.Petersburg, the subsidiary production unit of Avena Nordic Grain Oу, and Grigory Manuilov, Minister of Agriculture, Fish and Hunting Industry of the Republic of Karelia have also taken part in the meeting.

Avena Nordic Grain Oу is the leading trading company in grains, oilseeds and feeding stuffs in Finland, operating in domestic and international markets, with subsidiaries in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Estonia and Lithuania.

Matters in the Government concerned mobilization of investments in production and processing of agricultural production, in particular, the opportunity of investing in Kondopoga Center of Grain Production.

Oleg Gromov has mentioned that mobilization of foreign investments is one of the priorities of the Government of the region, and the republic is interested in development of production capacities, agriculture, and trade.

In Turn, Ms.Kaija Viljanen and Gennagy Pavlikov confirmed that Avena Nordic Grain Oу considers Karelia as a territory for further investments and is ready to "begin finding its feet at applying investment force in your region".

Concluding the meeting, Oleg Gromov has once again emphasized that Karelia is open for investment cooperation, and the Government of the republic is ready to render investors necessary administrative and practical support.
