Gerdau Corsa Invests USD 600 Million in New Plant in Mexico
OREANDA-NEWS. November 26, 2012. Gerdau Corsa, Gerdau's operation in Mexico, will invest USD 600 million to build a new plant for the
production of structural shapes in the state of Hidalgo. This new plant, which will start operating in the
second half of 2014, will be the most important private investment in the history of the state.
The new plant will have an annual installed capacity of 1 million metric tons of steel, and 700,000 metric
tons of rolled products. During the construction work, about 4,000 direct and indirect jobs will be created.
