Ukraine to Play Off Public-Private Action Plan Against Crisis
OREANDA-NEWS. November 26, 2012. Under the conditions of the recession in the global financial markets and to minimize the impact of the crisis on the Ukrainian economy the creation in the state a favorable investment and business climate is very actual.
Also, we should activate the work on import substitution and to develop our own production. This was stated by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov at a meeting with representatives of the Federation of Employers.
"We have one issue: whether crisis will impose us its agenda or we oppose it our own action plan. We also need as partners to determine which industries to develop. And now, for us the most important task is to create a favorable investment and business climate", the head of the Government said.
According to him, Ukraine is facing quite a difficult task both in terms of reducing the demand for Ukrainian products in foreign markets and lack of credit resources in the world to keep the pace of economic growth. The government has had much to minimize the impact of the global financial and economic crisis on the Ukrainian economy and to attract investment, simplify the business environment, and these efforts are reflected in the rankings, which publishes the world's financial institutions.
"During this year, Ukraine has advanced in many rankings to a significant number of positions. This indicates that we are moving in the right direction. It is not even in the rankings, but that business really feels that Ukraine sees changes, in particular, by fiscal and law enforcement agencies. And so things are getting better", Mykola Azarov said.
He noted that the government and representatives of the local business have a common goal - to ensure the prosperity of Ukraine. "The fact that we are partners doesn’t need a proof. And obviously that in difficult economic time this partnership should be strengthened. In this regard, I am pleased to note the active role of employers in a difficult period, when increasing the negative impact on the Ukrainian economy crisis occurring in Europe" - the Prime Minister concluded.
