Ukraine Wants to Improve Conditions of Accession to WTO
OREANDA-NEWS. November 26, 2012. Ukraine is negotiating with the World Trade Organization on the revision of the terms of accession. This was stated by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov at a meeting with representatives of the Federation of Employers.
"We are currently conducting specific negotiations and try to find a compromise solution. And I think that we will achieve this", the head of the Government said.
He noted that negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the WTO lasted 16 years, in different years, different governments agreed not the best conditions for accession to the sectoral agreements and accession took place on the whole not on favorable to our state conditions. Therefore, Ukraine initiated a review of a large number of positions on accession to the WTO. Such right of member states and a procedure is defined by statutes.
Recall, Ukraine joined the WTO on May 16, 2008, becoming the 152-th full member of the WTO.
