OREANDA-NEWS. November 26, 2012. As a member of the delegation from the enterprises of the North-West region, the representative of TITAN-2 Holding has visited a specialized plant in Sweden and familiarized with the advanced metal working technologies as well as with application of tools coming out to the market next year .

The business trip was taken from November 4 to 8, 2012 to the Sandvik Coromant plant manufacturing metal working tools and fitting (Sandviken, Sweden). The tools and fittings of this company are widely used in manufacturing of all modifications of couplings manufactured by TITAN using the holding's own production line.

In the course of the trip, the group members visited experimental laboratories aimed to develop and test new cutting tools and fitting, familiarized with the manufacturing plant and its industrial process management and also assessed the level of production preparation at Swedish plants.

In the future, application of new technologies will allow the specialists to reduce the time consumption norms for coupling production, to reduce the metal consumption in production process, and to increase the end product profitability.

TITAN-2 Holding is the largest Group of Companies in the North-West of Russia which erects the most important facilities of nuclear industry and power engineering. Its organizations perform the full cycle of building and assembly works: from development of design documentation to the facility commissioning. The Holding consists of more than 15 business units and employs about 4,000 employees.

The project for using threaded couplings for reinforced bars of its own production has been implemented at TITAN-2 Holding since 2010. The TITAN threaded couplings have passed all the stages of the tests, basing on which the certification authorities issued the certificate of conformity No. ROSS RU.SL 86.N00040. Economic calculation shows that TITAN couplings of domestic production are up to 40% cheaper than similar ones produced abroad. Production line for manufacturing threaded couplings, based on the Austrian turning complex EMCOTURN E65-Big Bore, is capable of production up to 600 couplings a day, as well as produces a wide range of turning products with diameter from 1 to 600 millimetres and accuracy up to 4 microns.
