OREANDA-NEWS. November 23, 2012. Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov charged the Chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee Vasily Tsushko, who heads the Ukrainian part of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Vietnamese bilateral commission to prepare for signing an agreement on free trade area between Ukraine and Vietnam, due to the intensification of trade and economic cooperation. The corresponding order the Prime Minister gave during the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Mykola Azarov said that last week he made an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, where he held talks with the leadership of the country, took part in a business forum and agreed to enhance cooperation in various fields. During the visit it has already signed a number of agreements.

According to the Prime Minister Vietnam as the country that is developing dynamically changing rapidly, goes to the regional leaders and is a reliable partner of Ukraine.

Mykola Azarov noted prospects and interest of the parties to cooperate in the areas of air transport, and military-technical sphere, hydropower, agriculture.

The Prime Minister stressed that the cooperation in the aviation sector has a high potential and Vietnamese partners order can be measured in hundreds of plains a year, first of all - represented Ukrainian AN-148, as well as the modernization of another AN, a large number of which are already operating in Vietnam.

Mykola Azarov also instructed the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Ministry of Infrastructure to immediately intensify negotiations with the relevant authorities of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to cooperate on an ongoing basis in the military-technical sphere.

According to him, Vietnam has a lot of interest to develop hydropower, while Ukraine has experience in setting pumped storage capacity, small generation; Ukraine produces the full range of equipment needed to produce hydroelectric power.

With regard to cooperation in agriculture, then as the Head of the Ukrainian Government noted, Vietnamese partners are interested in deliveries of grain, meat, poultry, and all this industry dynamicly develops in Ukraine in recent years. "And having a guaranteed market, these industries will significantly accelerate the growth. We must cherish these perspectives"- Mykola Azarov said.

He stressed that there is an issue on intensification of trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and Vietnam and strengthening the Intergovernmental Bilateral Commission, Ukrainian part of which is headed by Vasily Tsushko.

"With the Vietnamese Prime Minister, we have agreed to activate the work of intergovernmental bilateral commission, so you should seriously work, Vasily Petrovich. First, I put the task to prepare as soon as possible to the signing an agreement on free trade. Such an agreement for Ukraine opens obviously more pros"- Mykola Azarov said.
