Maldives President Attends Project Completion Ceremony of CMTCC Group
OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2012. On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of China-Maldives diplomatic ties, a grand completion ceremony was convened for the 1,000 Housing Project on Hulhumale Island of Maldives, reported the press-centre of MCC.
This works was undertaken by MCC Tiangong Construction Group (CMTCC Group). Over 300 officials, distinguished guests and project staff were present at the event, including Ambassador Yu Hongyao of China to Maldives, H.E. President Mohammed Waheed Hassan Manik of the Republic of Maldives, Minister Muizzu for Housing & Environment of Maldives, HDC General Manager Ahmed, and all the staff of the Project Divisions of CMTCC Group’s branches from Shanghai and Jiangxi Province.
All the news media of Maldives made live reports on this event. The ceremony was presided over by Minister Muizzu. Ambassador Yu Hongyao and President Mohammed Waheed Hassan delivered ebullient speeches cheering for the friendship between China and Maldives, and cut the ribbon for the acceptance inspection of this project.
The project execution lasted for two years, which is the first and largest one completed on time ever since the Maldives Government was established. This works consists of well-decorated residences, covering a total floorage area of 37,657 square meters. Each apartment comprises of three bedrooms, two living rooms and two bathrooms, which covers an area of 74.97 square meters and is featured by the combination of Islamic and Chinese elements.
