OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2012. At press conference Orange Moldova offered its clients two packages of the Internet Acum 4G service: 30GB for 230 leis per month and 50GB for 300 leis per month. Subscribers to Internet Acum 3G can buy the modem Huawei E392 (4G-LTE) for 99 leis. It comes to 299 leis for new subscribers.

The 4G network of Orange Moldova covers the entire Chisinau and nearest suburbs. In future the company is going to extend its network for other cities and towns of Moldova. Connecting to the 4G network has become possible as early as today in outlets of Orange Moldova. Thus, Orange Moldova was emphasized to be the only 4G mobile communication provider in Moldova, offering 4G services to individuals and legal entities at very affordable prices.

At present, Orange 4G network is available for close to 1 mln. people living in the capital and its suburbs. As giving an interview to InfoMarket, Orange Moldova Director General Ludmila Climoc said that the 4G coverage had become comparable with the 3G one in Moldova. She did not disclose an amount of the investments made, but said that the 4G technology proper (4G licence fee came to 10 mln. euros) can hardly be called paying for itself, but adoption of new technologies enables Orange Moldova to offer its clients a range of state-of-the-art technologies and the 4G network would allow to offload a bit the 3G one, improving by this services in all networks of Orange.

According to Ludmila Climoc, within the first month of the sale Internet Acum 4G is expected to be subscribed to by almost 1000 people, with most of them to switch over from old 3G packages to new 4G ones. At present, a number of subscribers to Orange Moldova amounts to 2.2 mln. people of which close to 2 mln. are active. The company has made the 69% share in the mobile communication market and attracted 54% of all subscribers to mobile communication services in Moldova.
