OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2012. Major topics for discussion, which was moderated by the Chairman of the Committee of State Duma on Science and High-End Technologies Valery Chereshnev, were: exhaustion of fossil sources of feedstock, unfavorable change of climate, pollution of environment, reported the press-centre of Titan.

Organizers of the forum think that bioeconomy can be the answer to the modern challenges. Experts were invited to evaluate prospects of this direction in Russia, possibilities of our country to act as supplier of bioresources and goods on their basis, and also to discuss a number of other strategic questions.

In panel discussion participated Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Anton Inyutsin, Dean of Biological Faculty, Moscow State University of M. V. Lomonosov Mikhail Kirpichnikov, Director of Institute of Biochemistry of A. N. Bach, Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Popov, academician, Dirctor of Center “Bioengineering” of Russian Academy of Sciences Konstantin Skryabin, the head of the federal project “PARK: Industrial-Agricultural Regional Clusters” Mikhail Sutyaginsky etc.

Let us mention, that project “PARK”, which is nowadays realized on the territory of Omsk region, is designed with consideration of ecosystem principles: maximal conservation of natural resources, transition to renewable sources of feedstock and its deep processing.

Questions of introduction of biofuel in Russia caused wide resonance among the experts. Mikhail Sutyaginsky also made accent on alternative bioproducts - energy carriers, emphasizing the problem of impossibility of using bioethanol as a fuel in the nearest future because of legislative constraints. That thesis found support among the participants of the discussion.

The speaker also made forecast on profitability of ecologically pure additives, as, for example, ethyl tertiary-butyl ether: “This component does not require alterations in the system of automotive engine and at the same time it is far more ecologically pure than its analogs”.

In the course of discussion Mikhail Sutyaginsky noted, that governmental support of such complex projects as PARK lacks development in Russia. Nevertheless, there are positive examples of cooperation with such financial institutions – “VEB-Engineering” and “Sberbank”: “Owing to “Sberbank” we have already prepared documents on receipt of compensational payments within the framework of Kyoto protocol on methyl tertiary-butyl ether. The received funds will be directed on further development of bioeconomic sphere in the company”.

At the end of his speech the head of the project “PARK” presented innovative product – biocoke – humidity-free organic carbon with low ash content. The unit, which allows to produce coal of such a high quality, received patent for valuable invention.
