IDBI Bank was awarded ‘Greentech CSR Award’ for demonstrating highest level of commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, particularly for its Rural Transformation Fellowship Programme (RTFP). The awards, supported by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, were presented at a function held in Hyderabad.

IDBI Bank, through its Rural Transformation Fellowship Programme (RTFP) in co-ordination with Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), aims to bring unbanked populace within the ambit of formal banking system, thereby increasing their access to financial services, opportunities to build savings, make investment and harness their earning capacity and entrepreneurial talent. RTFP is a CSR program that promotes Financial Inclusion in three states viz., Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. The Bank through, RTFP, strives to encourage people to (i) Access financial markets; (ii) Access credit markets; and (iii) Learn financial matters (financial literacy).

IDBI Bank's operations during the quarter ended September 30, 2012 resulted in a net profit of Rs. 484 Crore. The Bank’s operations during the last full financial year (2011-12) had yielded a net profit of Rs. 2032 crore.
