BNP Paribas Appoints Head of Research for Asia Pacific
OREANDA-NEWS. November 21, 2012. BNP Paribas Global Equities and Commodity Derivatives (GECD) Asia Pacific has taken a major step in the realignment of its core sector equity research with the appointment of Ken Chen as Head of Equity Research, Asia Pacific, reported the press-centre of BNP Paribas.
Ken brings a wealth of equity research analysis and management experience to this role. He has worked at BNP Paribas for 2 years as Chief Executive Officer, BNP Paribas Taiwan Securities, where under his leadership, the Bank's advisory rankings at key global institutional investment managers have seen significant improvement. Ken has worked as an equity research analyst for the majority of his career. Prior to joining BNP Paribas, Ken worked at UBS for 5 years, managing the Taiwan equities business and equity research team between 2005 and 2008 and latterly running the China A-share equities business until 2010. Before UBS, Ken worked for Deutsche Bank and CLSA as Head of Equity Research, Taiwan, for both companies.

As Head of Equity Research, Ken's mission will be to build a strong cohesion around the Asia Pacific regional research product. He will work closely with the team of sector heads to develop high quality research that that will have a greater focus on key regional investment themes as well as on companies with deeper liquidity and larger market capitalisation.
In this role, which is effective immediately, Ken will be based in Hong Kong and will report to Lee Cook.
