OREANDA-NEWS. November 21, 2012. About half of the companies in Polva County are planning to increase their activity on export markets next year, a flash survey of corporate clients in the County conducted by SEB indicates, reported the press-centre of SEB.
Of the Polva County companies polled, 44 per cent plan to increase their presence on current export markets or to enter new ones.
81 per cent of the respondents foresee an increase in turnover in 2013, and 63 per cent believe that turnover will increase by up to five per cent.
Innovation activities in products or services are being planned by 75 per cent and investments by half of the respondents. Investments will target equipment and building capacity.
Three-quarters of the respondents do not plan to hire additional employees, but no company is planning cuts in their workforce either. At the same time, the 16 small and medium-size companies polled have created around 30 additional jobs.
Leading among the respondents are industrial sector companies with a turnover of 0.6 to 2 MEUR and which are characterised by a modest growth plan and the ambition to enter new markets.
This October and November, SEB is carrying out an ambitious consultancy project that will see the bank’s representatives call on approximately 900 of Estonia’s small and medium-size enterprises, in all 15 Counties. They will be travelling Estonia’s roads in ten Smart minis decked out in SEB’s livery, which will also serve as a reminder about the importance of green transport.
As part of the consultancy project, SEB will also conduct a survey asking companies in the Counties to estimate their developments in turnover, changes in staff numbers, export and innovation plans, and proposed investments in 2013.
