OREANDA-NEWS. November 21, 2012. In addition to donating your reward points, you can now also use them to buy charity gifts on the website of Swedbank’s Reward Programme. The funds raised will be used to support various charities, reported the press-centre of Swedbank.

The selection includes products and souvenirs from five different organisations that belong to Swedbank’s Donation Environment, and the money raised from their sales will be used to support the daily activities and specific projects of these organisations. For example, by purchasing the DVD of the Estonian Cancer Society’s charity concert The Story of Elvis Presley, you can support the fight against lung cancer, while those who buy the shopping bag of Animal Shelters will be helping to cover the medical expenses of animals living in shelters.

At present, the selection also includes postcard sets from the SOS Children’s Village and Maarja Village, an exercise booklet from the Estonian Rheumatism Association and a rubber exercise band. “We want people to give more thought to what is going on around them and how they can contribute to social development with everyday things,” says Maris Ojamuru, Sustainability and Social Affairs Manager at Swedbank Estonia. “Why not give your loved ones charity souvenirs for Christmas instead of ordinary presents? Using points earned in Swedbank’s Reward Programme for charity gifts is still a pilot project, which will last until mid-January. However, if people show enough interest, we will definitely carry on with it.”

The "I love helping” environment was opened in year 2008, portal brings together chartable organizations and people who love helping. All 25 organizations presented in the environment contribute so that the life in Estonia could grow. Swedbank’s clients have donated ca 220 000, to which Swedbank has added 255 900 euros.
