OREANDA-NEWS. November 20, 2012. In the Le Grand Plaza Hotel in Tashkent was held an introductory evening organized by the Ministry of Tourism of Malaysia and the Embassy of Malaysia in Uzbekistan, dated to the 18th International Tourism Exhibition in Tashkent.

At the party there are gathered friends and partners of Malaysia, the representatives of NC "Uzbektourism", NAC "Uzbekistan Airways" "Uzbekistan-Malaysia" Friendship Society as well as travel companies in Uzbekistan and other countries.

The Ambassador of Malaysia to Uzbekistan Mr. Abdul Aziz bin Horun said in his opening speech that Uzbekistan is a key partner of the countries in Central Asia. This year, was celebrated the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Malaysia. Trade, economic and cultural relations between two countries are developing dinamically. Mr. Ambassador expressed his special thanks to "Uzbekistan-Malaysia" FS and the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan for their active assistance in strengthening the friendly relations between two countries and lighting of joint activities, and expressed hope for further mutually beneficial cooperation.

In cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism of Malaysia and Uzbek ensemble "O’zbegim Yoshlari" organized a colorful concert with the performance of Malaysian songs and dances. For the preparation of the submission the Ministry of Tourism of Malaysia organized a visit of two Malaysian choreographers who prepared the Malaysian dances with the ensemble "O’zbegim Yoshlari."

It should be noted that Malaysia is one of the closest partners of Uzbekistan in South-East Asia. In Uzbekistan there are more than 20 companies, created with the participation of investors from Malaysia. The Malaysian government provides training of specialists in various fields of Uzbekistan under the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program (MTCP). Developing of scientific contacts and cooperation occupies a special place in the field of tourism.

In order to promote cultural ties between the social circles of the two countries in 1998 in Tashkent was established "Uzbekistan-Malaysia" friendship society, a collective member of which since 2006 is NTRC of Uzbekistan.
