OREANDA-NEWS. November 16, 2012. Affected by the economic downturn, a lot of western countries withdrew their capital from China since last November. In the first seven months, the amount of foreign capital actually utilized across the whole country was 66.669 billion USD, down 3.6% year on year. The foreign fund decreased by 8.7% in July alone.

By contrast, the amount of foreign capital actually utilized in Anhui skyrocketed in the first 3 quarters, hitting 6.66 billion USD, up 30.3% year on year.

It is learned that Northern Anhui increased fast in utilizing foreign fund in the first 9 months this year, up 53.5% year on year. As of now, the number of the projects across Anhui with overall investment exceeding 100 million USD hit 21. Another 3 enterprises of World Top 500 such as Taiwan-based Compal, Caterpillar and Nestle were introduced.

Many foreign-funded big projects settled in Anhui one after another, contributing to the increase of utilizing foreign capital.
