This result is of high importance considering the scope of transport activities under the project and complicated road conditions in the region. The project involves about 650 transport units, including buses, trucks and light vehicles. About 1200 drivers are servicing this fleet. Over 10.5 million safe kilometers have been driven for the year.

The situation on Sakhalin Oblast roads remains to be difficult. In January-October 2012 only were 586 road traffic incidents with injuries. There were 95 people killed and 811 injured. To cope with the situation Sakhalin Energy implements road safety standards and ensures strict compliance with them among its staff and contractors.

The company has been working for many years to improve its road risk activities.
