Tolmachevo Airport Expands Geography of Flights to CIS Cities
OREANDA-NEWS. November 15, 2012. S7 Airlines begins to perform weekly scheduled flight to Tajikistan on the route Novosibirsk-Kulob.
Traditionally, passengers of the first flight were treated to cake, which was solemnly cut by representatives of Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo) airport and S7 Airlines.
With the opening of this direction, along with the already performed flights from Novosibirsk to Dushanbe and Khujand, the frequency of flights to cities of Tajikistan will increase to 8 times a week, which will allow passengers to choose the best route.
Currently, Novosibirsk International Airport Tolmachevo offers flights operated by Russian airlines and national carriers of the CIS from Novosibirsk to cities of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Belarus.
The Novosibirsk Airport (Tolmachevo) is the largest air hub East of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity on domestic flights is 1 800 passengers per hour, on international flights - 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways. According to business plan in 2012 The Tolmachevo Airport plans to serve 3 155 thousand passengers that is 14% higher than in 2011 and handle more than 26,000 tons of cargo and mail that is 28% more than in 2011. The airport has been nominated for World Routes Awards 2012 in the category "The Best CIS Airport 2012".
