OREANDA-NEWS. November 14, 2012. Chongqing Customs claimed that from January to October this year, export and import value of Chongqing foreign trade reaches USD 45.31 billion, increasing 1.1 times year-on-year. Among that, export value increases USD 33.23 billion by 1.4 times and ranks the 10th national wide and the first in central and western China.

"In this year, Chongqing foreign trade maintains a good tendency of increase. Common trade, processing trade and bonded logistic etc. all achieve increase of multiple times." Officer in charge of Chongqing Customs said that from January to October, export and import value of common trade, processing trade and bonded logistic in Chongqing achieved USD 24.84 billion, USD 13.69 billion and USD 5.41 billion which increased by 1.2 times, 2 times and 1.6 times year on year. In October, export and import value of common trade, processing trade and bonded logistic reaches USD 2.38 billion, USD 2.08 billion and USD 47 million which increase by 120%, 130% and 16.5% year on year.

Relevant officers in Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Commission said that export and import of Chongqing foreign trade keep a strong tendency of increase. It is benefited from upgrade of local industry, especially rapid growth of mechanical and electrical products export. 

From January to October, export value of mechanical and electrical product of the municipality reaches USD 21.45 billion, increased by 1.3 times; among that, the number of exported notebook computer is 29.032 million and the value is USD 10.1 billion, increased 1.9 times and 2.1 times respectively; import value of mechanical and electrical product is USD 9.46 billion, increased by 78.4%.

In terms of main trade partners, the export and import between Chongqing and EU, ASEAN, and the U.S. increases multiple times. From January to October this year, export and import value of Chongqing to EU reaches USD 10.35 billion increased by 1.4 times; the value to ASEAN reaches USD 8.18 billion increased 1.5 times; the value to the U.S. reaches 7.85 billion increased 1.7 times.
