OREANDA-NEWS. November 14, 2012. Ural Airlines, jointly with Koltsovo Airport JSC and Social Integration Centre for Young People, have organized an educational tour for pupils of Yekaterinburg Orphanage #6. The airline's employees have shown details of such facilities as Ural Airlines' pilot training centre and aircraft maintenance centre.

The children who formerly only saw airplanes in the air were overjoyed with their new experiences. Having visited the training centre where the airline's pilots undergo training, they listened to an induction by the most experienced staff, and even tried their hand as actual aviators. In the trainer cabin the boys and girls had an opportunity to get off the ground and land a very natural Airbus.

The next point of the route was the aircraft maintenance centre where an Airbus - the real one this time - was undergoing scheduled maintenance. The children, as if they were spellbound, observed the airplane, distracted time and again by aircraft mechanics' lectures - as a matter of fact, it is not every day that you get a chance to peep into a very real flight deck with a lot of buttons and levers, and finally explore what aircraft engines look like.
