OREANDA-NEWS. November 13, 2012. BNP Paribas is pleased to announce the appointment of Sameer Sopori as the Head of High Yield Capital Markets, Asia Pacific effective immediately. Sameer is based in Singapore and reports directly to Frank Kwong, Head of Syndicate Asia and Chanant Charnchainarong, Head of Fixed Income South East Asia. He is tasked with developing the bank's high yield franchise across the region, reported the press-centre of BNP Paribas.

Sameer has over 20 years' experience working in Corporate Finance, Leverage Finance and High Yield transactions across Asia and Europe. He has executed over 20 high yield transactions in Asia, raising more than US 7 billion for Asian corporates.

Prior to joining BNP Paribas he was Global Head of the High Yield Product Group at Standard Chartered. Sameer has also previously worked at Credit Suisse, UBS and Morgan Stanley in London and Hong Kong.

Sameer holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, India and Master of Business Administration from London Business School.
